33110-lauren

ok.. so truth be told i’m sure lauren spent lots of time selecting just the right papers, and playing with various strips and punches to get just the right balance to make this page to look so stunning… but what’s on my mind is that at the end of a scrapping day… i could use scraps left from my kit to copy this layout! in fact.. i hate throwing out scraps so much that i probably have 2 storage bins full.. and could make 100’s of pages similar to this one if i dug through them. and i’m really diggin’ how she trimmed the pinked edge off of this month’s specialty paper… and… how she used the paper raffia to make the cute little curly q on the edge of her photo…. and hand stitching, how can you not admire that! i’m posting this over on facebook along with a challenge… come join in the fun and take your chances at winning a prize too! (to find us on facebook search for green tangerines, and choose the one with our store front photo, add us as a friend, and join in the party!)

32910-autumn

check it out… the first signs of the fabulous march kit have hit the flickr gallery… and i am lovin’ this single page by autumn! such a fun layout idea, and easy way to give someone a brief glimpse into the current you. so keeping with  her 7 theme… i love the overall idea, love how this page reflects autumns personality (fun and fresh!), love the multiple journaling blocks, love that she uses tons of fonts, love that she snagged some of feb kit fonts and did the crossover, love how she distressed edges that give it a whimsical feel, and love, love, love her picture! In case you didn’t know this… Autumn is a middle school teacher, in my book, one of the best. No, I have never sat in her classroom, but by listening and seeing photos, you can just tell… she is not in it for the paycheck, but for the love of teaching. She is one of those teachers that kids secretly wish to get, and then once they do talk about how awesome she was for years to come. She makes class fun, which equates to learning! This photo is a prime example… she is always participating in spirit week… and takes it seriously, always having the perfect, well thought out costume! Great page lady! thanks for being such an inspiration to me and to your students!

12×12… and not just the page size. love this little project/challenge that the talented miss kristen decided to do this year… 12 photos on the 12th day of the month… that’s some real life scrapping, and I LOVE IT! really records everyday life… not the once a year special occasions but the reality of your life in the now. and one of my favorite elements on all the pages this month… the flag banner… detailed all the way from the pom-poms down to the bling on the bottom of it… and check out the journaling… this girl can tell a story (my favorite part of any scrapbook)…plus always lovin on the monochromatic pages! Great content, beautiful execution, need i say more?!

stylish and sophisticated are great words to describe both lauren and her layout. this girl makes me want to be an artist… i am so envious of how easy she makes this look. i for one know if i took the wood paper a foam brush and some paint the end result would be disastrous… but this page makes me want to give it a try! Check out the fun use of the cork adhesive rounds that she got in her embellishment add-on too … a little paint and glossy accents… the perfect technique for sure! repeating circles, 3 fonts, journaling right on the wood…can’t even gush enough about this page! great job lady!!

This mom of 4 has some superstar talents… one of which is getting things done! I love it that even though Raimi has a full plate at home, (4 kiddos, church, sports, helping at kids school, cleaning and cooking, etc…) she still finds time to keep up on her scrapbooking too! I’m still waiting to learn where she got her super hero powers. Check out her fun use of the metal clips she was given… hearts and bling… and ribbon oh my…love it!! And the design style of things in three and using them in a triangle so my eye doesn’t bounce all over the place! Simple and quick, yet stylish and fun, the perfect combo for sure! Proof that sometimes less is more! See you all tomorrow!

This is just one of the fab projects that Christine turned into us! I love how she uses the word FRESH… on a page who’s colors exude just freshness! Totally makes me smile! Check back on Monday to see all her work in our flickr gallery! Plus… read all about Christine for your chance to win some free scrapbooking goodness!

How long have you been scrapping?  I’ve been taking pictures & putting them in albums since I was 8. By junior high I was starting to crop & embellish the pages of my magnetic albums (don’t worry, those photos have been “rescrapped”!). But I’ve been really scrapbooking for about 12 years now.

Why did you get started? I got a lot more creative with my albums in college, thanks to my sorority sisters. But it wasn’t until my mom told me about a friend who’d been to this place called a “scrapbook store” that I really got into it.

Favorite scrapbooking line, tool, or celebrity?  Hmmm…there are so many lines that I really like right now: Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, and American Crafts (I’m addicted to their Thickers!). As for tools, Photoshop Elements.  I love being able to crop & resize my photos to any size I want. And adjust the color…awesome!  And celebrity? I have so many blogs that I follow, but I’ve always loved Becky Higgins’ style & sketches.

Beverage of choice while scrapbooking?  Iced tea with lemon. I make a couple gallons a week!

What do you scrapbook about the most?  My kids, of course! I’ve got three (5, almost 4, & 1 ½), so they give me plenty of photos ops! Though my five year old is definitely in that “don’t take my picture” phase…that’s what telephoto lenses are for, right?

What TV series do you record?  Since getting a dvr almost five years ago, I think a better question would be “what TV shows DON’T you record?”! Seriously, the only one I *have* to record is LOST. I will be so sad this May when it’s over!

Favorite color?  Turquoise

So I have lots in common with this gal…  ice tea, thicker addictions, Lost… mmm mm good stuff for sure! Leave me a post today about your scrapbook addiction and on Monday we will choose one random winner to receive a free pattern paper add-on for the upcoming March kit. Sneak Peeks coming to your inbox soon! Thanks Christine for sharing all your talented work!

hello all you crazy gtkc ladies! we’re back… and on a mission i must add… to get this blog whipped into shape! and we’re kicking it off with a wonderful feb. layout done by the extremely talented pbd girl… sarah. check it out… i love 3 things about this layout… 1. she made a cool embellishment out of the plain old metal clip she was given, 2. her title visually rocks, and 3. i love how she injected the boys names right onto that big old shield, and cut parts of it out doing the overlap… really made that paper look like a custom piece!  great job lady!  hope you all love it just as much as we do!

check back tomorrow… yes i said it… TOMORROW… and meet our feb. honorary member guest designer christine and get ready to be inspired! see you then!
