wouldn’t you agree? i think yes! so for all you gtkc members, you’ve had a chance to dig through the goodies and tonight, i’m going to share a couple of my favorite ways to use my favorite july item and of course the giveaways :]
for those of you who are new on the block…we are doing a weekly blog party and we’ll be giving away two of our super fabulous kits (over $50 worth of awesome stuff) and all you have to do is find the blog party question of the day, answer the question in our comments section and we’ll pick 2 lucky winners at random tomorrow night. too good to be true? no says i!
alright, don’t laugh but i’m really new to the whole taking pictures as i make stuff so it was a hot mess and i had to deconstruct a few things to back track, haha! it all worked out in the end so here we go!
here’s what you’ll need for the first technique:

versamark, clear embossing powder, heat gun, stamp (i used a little circle) and of course your mini mister & re-inker (from the july kit).
so, first thing you want to do is stamp your image onto your paper using the versamark ink…i like repetition and am a firm believer that one of anything is just simply not enough. now cover the stamped images with clear embossing powder, tap off excess and heat it up. here’s mine:

fill your mini mister a little over the halfway point with water, add several drops of ink to it and shake. for this part, i started with 5 drops and it was still pretty light for my liking so i bumped it up to about 20 drops when it was all said and done, lol. more is more people.
once you have the right ratio to suit your personal taste, spray over the embossed images (it’s a super awesome idea to spray on a craft mat or wax paper or something - things get a little sketchy if you choose to go rambo with it, trust) wipe the ink off of the embossed part, you don’t have to worry about anything smearing because it soaks in to the cardstock pretty fast. here’s what it looks like after…

ok, now one more technique that i learned from our very own miss lauren… so it’s a masking technique where you use the mask to make a mat for your photo. fun right? here’s what you’ll need for this one…

removable adhesive (which i don’t have so i just used a dot n’roller which worked beautifully), circle punches in assorted sizes, and your mister & ink. so start by cutting a mat mask out of a seperate piece of cardstock- the size will depend on the size of your photo (mine is only 3.25 x 3.25 inches) and i didn’t want a huge mat so i just cut mine 1/4 inch larger than my photo (3.5 x 3.5 inches. punch some circles while you’re at it, i like the look of rings so i punched circles out of circles if that makes sense? haha, you’ll see what i mean…

using a tiny bit of adhesive, i gently stuck the elements in place (you’ll have to pull them back off so you don’t want them too stuck). once everything is placed just so, start spraying…i had a little too much fun, nothing a little steam cleaner won’t fix- hopefully. oh yeah, and it’s also fun just to use the dropper from the re-inker and make huge splats everywhere too. just try it, you might like it :] here’s what it looks like now…

next step after peeling the masks off, add the pic and embellishments…

now, as promised, the blog party question!!!
do you like to get your hands dirty while scrapbooking? if so, how? what’s your favorite messy technique? spill!!!!
alright so let’s meet back here around 7-ish tomorrow for a little winner action, yes? ok, it’s a date friends! see you soon!
